Client contacted us after wanting to fall in love with his pond again, after retiring finding that he spent more time in the garden and wanted to bring the pond back to life.
This project began with removing existing fish and wildlife into the temporary pool set up for the duration of the works, and the draining down of the old pond.
Groundworkers came in to excavate the pond, to increase the overall size and depth.
To line the pond, we used quality high grade EPDM pond liner and pond underlay, with the liner offering a lifetimes guarantee (whose lifetime we don’t know!).
Once the shape and depth of the new pond was complete the underlay and pond liner were installed, on this project no bottom drain was installed.
Once the liner installed, along with relevant pipework for the filtration, the rock work could begin, using locally quarried stones.
To aid in the filtration system, a watercourse and a small regeneration zone was incorporated into the design, this zone will include a beautiful red waterlily, which will bloom in the warmer months of the year.
